Head of Communications

Would you like to work with one of the UK’s leading brand agencies? If so, then this position is for you! This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced agency environment, working with a range of clients across a multitude of industries.

As the head of Communications, you will work alongside the senior leadership team whilst also managing the content, PR and social departments. You will need to have a clear vision and ownership of communication campaigns, from conception to completion, and be a great leader to the comms team to ensure all campaigns are successful and maintain their excellent reputation.

Responsibilities
  • Leading and managing a strong communications team
  • Devising and implementing strategies, reviewing the results and adapting accordingly
  • Developing, planning and implementing department communication plans, contributing to and reporting into the senior leadership team
  • Creating and delivering a variety of communication campaigns.
  • Monitoring, analysing, and communicating PR results and coverage on a monthly basis
  • Managing media inquiries and interview requests
  • Researching and creating content for press releases
  • Evaluating opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising
  • Developing relationships with industry leaders to increase industry awareness
  • Preparing case studies, speeches, articles, and annual reports
  • Retaining a thorough awareness of business changes that impact clients and providing pertinent advice on the communication plan surrounding them

Requirements for Experience, Education, and Skills
  • A minimum of three years of experience in communications, presenting, media relations, social media, content, videography, and/or PR across any genre and a degree or equivalent in education, preferably in journalism or marketing
  • Strong relationships with local and national business as well as industry media outlets
  • Be prepared to act as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews
  • Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Excellent or very good writing and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of communications tools including Gorkana and Meltwater;
Location: Loughborough
Salary: 45K-65K (flexible)
