Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Content and Communications Officer to join a vibrant, ever-expanding charitable Foundation within the sporting sector.

As the Content and Communications Officer, you will work alongside the Head of Foundation, taking the lead on the foundation’s social media content in order to advance their visibility, whilst maintaining their excellent reputation. 

The right candidate will have demonstrable experience in a content-based role, with a clear portfolio of video/picture and written work, working to oversee and producing first-class written content, as well as capturing top of the range video content, both of which will be used across digital, print and social media’s both internally and externally. A candidate that comes from (or has an understanding of) a marketing strategy background will be looked upon favourably.

This role also offers guidance and continuous professional support, so is perfect for a candidate looking to develop their digital strategy skills alongside their content expertise.

Location: Birmingham (hybrid- 4 days in office)
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum

  • The confidence to take charge of all content creation, showcasing the meaningful work that the foundation does across the four main project streams: supporters, funders (and fundraising), partners and participants
  • Experience in working on/ implementing a digital marketing campaign strategy is favourable
  • Evidence of experience within content creation, including filming and editing good quality videos, writing first-rate articles and capturing wonderful photographs.
  • The capability to utilise all content to the best of your ability, curating a resource library of your content to use in the future and reporting annually on the success of your campaigns
  • Willing to act as a central point of contact for the advertising of the Foundation, alongside other club departments including design, partnerships and photography, as well as with outsourced media partners e.g. Nation Press and pointed PR agencies
  • The use of industry relevant software including the Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics and other relevant tools
  • Experience working within the third sector in a similar role would be desirable but not essential
  • A curated portfolio of previous work including written, photographed and videography is required
