Job Opportunity: DevOps Engineer (AWS)
Location: Portsmouth (Hybrid - 1 day week on-site)

Key Skills:
- AWS
- Terraform or CloudFormation
- CI/CD (BitBucket or GitHub or Jenkins etc)
- Knowledge of PHP (React or Node.js ok)
- MySQL
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure AWS infrastructure (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, IAM).
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
- Monitor and optimise system performance, security, and resource utilisation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, including network connectivity and server performance.
- Work with software engineers to optimise application performance and ensure smooth feature deployments.
- Manage and administer MySQL databases, including schema design, performance tuning, and backups.
- Implement and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless system integration.
- Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in DevOps, cloud computing, and infrastructure automation.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, IAM).
- Solid understanding of IaC concepts and experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Experience with the Symfony framework and building RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in managing and optimising MySQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Bitbucket or AWS CodePipeline.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (New Relic, AWS CloudWatch).
- Knowledge of security best practices in AWS environments.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with other programming languages (PHP, React, Node.js).
