Job description

My client is an amazing environmental company that certifies low-carbon energy technology and contractors, such as heat pumps, solar, biomass, wind, and battery storage, to uphold and improve quality.

  • Take on the brand and represent it on behalf of the business, making sure that all brand standards are consistently followed. You'll make sure that every communication is appropriate for the target demographic and stays "on message." 
  • Oversee daily PR activities, such as gathering pertinent newsworthy items, briefing stakeholders, handling internal and external approvals, producing PR reports, writing opinion pieces, etc.  
  • Coordinate and oversee my clients relationship with the outside public relations firm, analyse daily horizon scans, schedule quotes and commentary for the local, national, and trade press, set up regular forecast and review meetings, and make sure that coverage reports are current and suitable for sharing with the Board. 
  • Provide thorough briefs to the Senior Leadership Team on short notice for media appearances, event appearances, and crisis communications response strategies to new challenges in the sector. 
  • Produce compelling, inventive, and imaginative communications by conducting research; writing, editing, and proofreading; and disseminating information via a variety of media.
  • Create, implement, and oversee a communication plan for our campaigns and top priorities.
  • Be a major player in promoting outside events, such as trade exhibits and parliamentary gatherings. 
  • Offer the senior leadership team well-informed suggestions and guidance on the company's media relations, PR, and communication channels, guaranteeing robust coordination throughout the enterprise. 
  • Assist the communications team by providing the required PR inputs and outputs to broader plans centred around projects and campaigns. 
  • Represent the company’s PR at meetings with important stakeholders, government departments, trade associations, contractor forums, working groups, and the Charitable Foundation. 
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the company’s overall mission, stakeholder interaction, and communications. 

Salary - up to £35K
Location - Warrington (hybrid)

Experience:

  • a degree or similar qualification in public relations, marketing, communications, or a related field  
  • Previous experience working in-house or for an agency in a public relations capacity 
  • A solid grasp of industry trends and a thorough understanding of the communications landscape and best practises, including familiarity with a variety of press and media outlets. 
  • Capacity to compose and revise content for various audiences and platforms 
  • Capacity to facilitate the implementation of integrated communication strategies over a wide range of channel combinations 
  • Knowledge of the small-scale renewable technology industry
