Digital Waffle is working in partnership with a provider of software development, data analysis, and marketing. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer.

Job Role
The Information Technology department is responsible for the implementation, provision, and support of all information and technology services for the company. The IT department is a Business Services function that supports and contributes to the objectives of the legal practice. Members of this department are expected to be a part of the firm's culture and to be committed to providing an excellent quality of service to all of our customers.

The Network and Security Architecture and Design team is responsible globally for the architecture, design, and delivery of all network and security infrastructure, including but not limited to local and wide area network technologies, internet and cloud security appliances, security monitoring, remote access, and data center security.

The Senior IT Engineer will be responsible for information security and will work on team assignments, providing strong technical leadership for the security elements of platform, infrastructure, and network designs. They will also work with architects and engineers in teams, providing essential subject matter expertise to the Platforms and Infrastructure Design teams, Application Development / Implementation teams, the CISO team, and the relevant Infrastructure & Operations teams that manage and support the services once in operation.

Requirements What do you need?

Security and monitoring designs for services:
  • Create designs that best fit the network & security needs, alongside InfoSec and the CISO team, achieving conformance to key security standards like NIST.
    Look to migrate on-premise security services into cloud platforms with the associated support model.
  • Identity Services:
    Establish how new and existing security tools and approaches can improve
    authentication and authorisation services for the company.
  • Security designs:
    Developing designs for cloud-based security services that fit within the firm.
    Examples include Microsoft Sentinel and Defender (Microsoft 365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, etc.).
    Web Application Firewalls.
  • Cloud Migration Planning:
    Developing appropriate security controls for on-premise to cloud designs that enable re-platforming or hosting applications and services on public cloud.
