SQL Developer
Salary: £37,500 + 5% Bonus


Location: Thame (Oxfordshire) / Hybrid - once or twice a month max commute to the office.


A fantastic opportunity has come up for a SQL Developer to join a truly innovative organisation that are doing some exciting things when it comes to all things Data.


They have recently started a migration project going over to Azure, and have also started to working with Python, so there’s lots of opportunity to learn some of the latest and best technologies to help you improve. This opportunity also offers some great and clear progression opportunities, as you can either develop into a Senior SQL Developer, a Data Engineer or a Data Manager (Managing a small team), depending on what route you decide, and it will be completely up to you, as they are all about listening to what you want, and what’s best for your career.


The key challenges for this opportunity will be:


  • Designing and developing data ETL routines
  • Designing & maintaining the data models required to store the business data.
  • Developing outputs suitable for end user tools, including 3rd party BI platforms.
  • Investigating code and data issues to determine the root cause and implement fixes
  • Producing documentation (functional and technical)


Experiance:


  • Strong proficiency with SQL 2014 or above.
  • Strong experience in relational database design and best practice.
  • Highly skilled SQL Developer including understanding of SQL execution plan for optimizing performance.
  • Strong knowledge of all major components of database design including the importance and usage of Indexes, Triggers, Functions, Stored Procedures and Views.
  • Ability to manage SQL Agent and be able to develop a range of jobs as required to be scheduled
  • Capable of troubleshooting common database issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate and document technical solutions.
