Data Cabling Project Manager (Security Cleared)

Job Purpose:

To deliver the full lifecycle from my client's request, provide surveys and quotations, installation delivery, handover, documentation, contractor control, stakeholder management and customer satisfaction.
Delivery of works in accordance with health and safety, environment,
quality procedures, Industry standards and MOD standards.

Brief
  • Lead and manage data cabling and fibre optic installation projects at large commercial, MOD, Naval and X-listed sites.
  • Take full responsibility for project delivery, financial accountability, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while meeting budget and timeline targets.

    Role Requirements:
  • Strong project management expertise.
  • 5 years + of hands-on experience in copper and fibre network infrastructure installation and containment.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling systems and relevant industry standards.
  • Knowledge of communication technology regulations (e.g., JSP604 Leaflet 4800).
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation, including Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Ability to conduct site surveys, design solutions, and provide cost estimates.
  • Proficiency in project tracking and management.
  • Excellent technical knowledge in data communications.
  • Effective team management and delegation skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness for handling contractual matters.
  • Experience in resource management, including subcontractors.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe as needed.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Organizational skills for multitasking.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Relevant qualifications like CTPM, CNIDP, C&G, or health and safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH) are desirable.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
  • Willingness to undertake various operational and support tasks as required by the organization.
Note: Please note that the majority of this work is military-based, so having or being able to obtain SC clearance will be very advantageous.
In this role, you will oversee data cabling and fibre optic projects, ensuring they are completed successfully, safely, and within budget. Your responsibilities include project management, compliance with regulations, and effective team leadership, with an emphasis on the advantageous SC clearance for military-based projects.
