AWS Cloud Engineer - ELK Stack - Fully Remote (Ability to work to EST)
Up to $70/ph - Initial 7-Month Contract, Likely Extension
An analytics products and services company that gives clients unmatched speed to value through analytics solutions and actionable business insights, is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Level Cloud Engineer with experience with application log analytics and monitoring using ELK stack or Splunk.
This role requires an estimated 40 hours/week commitment for 3 months with a possible extension. Responsibilities and requirements for this position are provided below.
The Senior Level Cloud Engineer will be an effective communicator, have a good understanding of deploying, configuring, and debugging analytics log solutions on huge volumes of data with exposure to AWS and ElasticSearch and/or OpenSearch. A general knowledge of index migrations, debugging and researching concepts, and effective communication are major pluses.

Responsibilities:
Analysis and Design
- Performs data flow diagramming and/or process modeling (code architecture).
- Participates in group working sessions with technology leadership and/or technology resources
- Jointly and/or independently designs, configures, and implements various AWS modules relevant to the cloud migration project.
- Development will be required for shared services and components
- Works with the other technical team members to continually improve implementation strategies, development standards and other team processes and documentation.
- Provides hands-on support to improve implementations with peers and leadership Software Engineers.
- Communicates plans, status, and issues to management on a daily basis.
- Adheres to department standards, policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
- Mandatory to have AWS Solution Architect Associate certification
- Experienced in any kind of migration projects that involve migrating from one technology to a different technology.
- Has experience with Amazon OpenSearch or ElasticSearch
- Require at least 2 years’ experience on ELK stack and a good experience in setting up, configuring ELK stack.
- Have good experience in setting up indices in ELK and setting up security roles and policies to enable role-based access control.
- Good to have experience in creating/configuring Kibana dashboards
- Must be aware of any IaC tools like Terraform, AWSCFT, AWS SDKetc.
- Must be aware of CI/CD pipelines and well-versed in using Jenkins for creating required pipelines for CI/CD.
- Prior project experience in log monitoring and analytics solutions.
- Knowledge on AWS OpenSearchService and approaches/thoughts on migrating to it.
- Demonstrated Experience in OAuth, SAML, etc. for the various Cloud workloads
