Location: Birmingham / Hybrid

Opportunity:

An excellent opportunity has come up for a Business Analyst to join a small but growing team, as they look to start a new and exciting data migration project moving over to PowerBI.


For this role and opportunity, they are looking for someone who is a self starter and team player, because fitting in to the team is as equally important to them and not just being able to do the role. You will also have lots of opportunity to learn new skills and be creative in the role, as the hiring manager believes listening to the team and their needs is important for the team to do well, so if you want to progress and learn new skills, they also pay for training courses (usually once a year of your choice), as well as a clear progression plan for you to grow into a Senior BA, plus other interesting progression options.


The primary purpose of this role:


  • Conducting analysis and leading work to shape an initial idea into a viable project.
  • Considering the business context and develop pragmatic business requirements and processes which contribute to effective business solutions.
  • Formulating effective business cases to be clear around the rationale and options for change.
  • Support the transition of business requirements to solution and effective handover to BAU.
  • Be pivotal in delivering digital solutions to the business



Key responsibilities:

  • Support multiple projects by working to time to budget, adhering to governance processes and in accordance with agreed milestones and outcomes.
  • Understanding of taking requirements related to PowerBI or any other Data Visualisation tool such as Tableau, Qlik or Business Objects etc. (PowerBI will be a preference).
  • Analyse and understand stakeholder objectives and business drivers. Breaking down business requirements and cataloguing these into minimum viable features ready for the sprint team.
  • Contribute to and the running of key agile ceremonies within the development cycle.
  • Elicit and evaluate requirements to ensure they are fit for purpose, challenging positively as appropriate and setting stakeholder expectations on any gaps identified.
  • Identify effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes. Understand ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ states.

  • Able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists – technical or otherwise.
  • Ability to establish relationships at all levels and positively challenge stakeholders.
  • Able to communicate fluently orally and in writing, and to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Choose the most appropriate method to present information to a given audience, with the appropriate level of detail to gain buy in.
