Job description

Digital Waffle is so excited to have partnered with the most innovative aviation company in Germany, looking for their next Flight Control Engineer.

Your controller will not only be a prototype function – it will be flying. After the design and implementation (as well as MiL- and HiL-testing), your flight control software is then handed over to the flight operations team where you will see how your lines of code become alive on a real aircraft and govern the fate of the "rescue mission".

  • You'll design, implement, and test the flight control software – from concept to reality.
  • You'll witness your code come alive on an actual aircraft, controlling a critical rescue mission.

The Tasks:
  • Design the functionality of the flight control system.
  • Review and approve the requirements for the system.
  • Write the code that makes it all work.
  • Integrate your code with other systems on the aircraft.
  • Generate the final code for use on the aircraft.
  • Continuously integrate and test your code.
  • Track progress and report to key stakeholders.
  • Qualify the final flight control software for use.

Who You Are:
  • You're a Master's student or graduate in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • You have hands-on experience with flight control systems.
  • You're an expert in control theory, flight control concepts, and the flight dynamics of electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles (eVTOLs).
  • You're an expert in MATLAB/Simulink and C programming.
  • Use Polarion and GIT for version control (bonus)

Important Note:
This position requires a security clearance (Ü2-Sabotageschutz) with approval based on specific residency requirements.
