Machine Learning Researcher

Digital Waffle is excited to be partnering with a pioneering Parisian start-up, that is seeking a Machine Learning Researcher to develop a cutting-edge conversational AI tool. You'll leverage speech recognition, natural language processing, and generative models to craft a seamless user experience.

I am looking to speak with recent PhD graduates (or PhD candidates soon to graduate) who are looking for their first permanent contract after their PhD.

Key Requirements:
- PhD in Speech and/or Natural Language Processing
- Published as a first author at the following conferences: NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, EACL, ICASSP, INTERSPEECH.
- Must be located in France

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research in speech, language, and machine learning to optimise their conversational AI.
• Develop novel algorithms for real-time phone interactions and integrate them into their products.
• Stay on top of industry advancements and identify opportunities for innovation.
• Contribute to technical documents, research papers, and patents.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Speech Processing, NLP, or a related field.
• Publications in top conferences (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python (C/C++ a plus) and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX).
• Conversational AI/virtual assistant experience a plus.
