Network Engineer - Wigton - Hybrid/Remote
£35-50K (DOE)+ 6K Bonus & Excellent Benefits
Digital Waffle is working with a high-prestige client who is looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer.
So what is the role?
This role will be an essential part of the IT Team and will ensure a secure IT environment is maintained through appropriate administration and development as part of the Global IT Security Group.
Responsibilities of the role include:
· Maintain the dedicated networks for production & security systems as part of a global team
· Perform diagnostics & analysis of firewalls, routers, switches and associated systems to ensure maximum system reliability & security
· Maintain and manage Splunk and Splunk ES environments
· Monitor and maintain technical infrastructure & network traffic to optimize security, performance and efficiency
· Configuration of firewalls, switches and routers as appropriate
· Monitor and maintain SD-WAN connectivity between sites
· Manage PKI distribution and issue/revoke certificates
· Develop regular penetration testing plan
· Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and propose/implement mitigating solutions
· Strong Network Protocol Knowledge
· Packet Capture and Analysis
· Ability to feed threat intel and vulnerability information to the larger IT team
· Management of a PKI solution
· Working Experience with one or more of the following or similar:
o Palo Alto (PANOS/Panorama)
o Cisco (IOS/SourceFire/ISE/WLC/PI)
o Tripwire/Wazuh/OSSEC
o Qualys/Nessus
o Splunk/Splunk Enterprise Security
What skills & qualities will you need?
As a successful candidate for this role, you should have strong critical information-seeking and analytical skills, in addition to experience in any of the following; Cisco, Palo Alto, Splunk, ISC2, or other security vendor certifications.
