Job Title: Telecoms Installer
Location:
 Edinburgh

Job Overview: Our client is seeking a Telecoms Installer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, modems, and other network devices, according to specifications and project requirements.
  2. Mount equipment on walls, ceilings, or racks, ensuring proper alignment and secure installation.
  3. Connect and test cables for data transmission, including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cables, and terminate cables with appropriate connectors.
  4. Conduct on-site surveys and assessments to determine the best placement and installation methods for telecom equipment and infrastructure.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to equipment installation, connectivity, and performance, both independently and in collaboration with technical support teams.
  6. Provide training and support to customers or end-users on the use and maintenance of telecom equipment and systems.
  7. Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and service activities, including equipment serial numbers, configurations, and test results.
  8. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others, including proper handling of equipment and materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Must have SP Energy Networks (SPEN) accreditation 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in telecommunications, networking, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Telecoms Installer or similar role, with a strong understanding of telecommunications equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for equipment installation and mounting.
  • Knowledge of cable types, termination methods, and testing procedures for data transmission.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and project plans accurately.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Valid ECS
