Title: Network Project Engineer
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Up to £60k DOE
We're looking for a Network Project Engineer to oversee the installation and maintenance of enterprise networks, ensuring client satisfaction and project profitability. Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, responsibilities include equipment setup, troubleshooting, and future network design. The engineer must manage multiple projects, maintain detailed documentation, and collaborate effectively with teams.

Essential Key Skills:
- Cisco
- Palo Alto
- Network Certification (CCNA, CCNP, CISSP etc)
- Evidence of Project Work and framework methodologies (eg Agile, Waterfall, Scrum)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure.
- Provide detailed project documentation and client training.
- Troubleshoot issues and meet deadlines.
- Foster positive relationships and coordinate with internal and external teams.
- Evaluate and recommend network improvements, staying updated on industry trends.
- Monitor network performance and participate in capacity planning.
- Maintain network security, including firewalls and VPN solutions.
- Contribute to IT governance and budgeting processes.
- Represent the IT function in customer meetings.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or higher.
- Proficiency in network engineering with hands-on experience.
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols and OSI/TCP/IP models.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and diagnostic processes.
- Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, VPN technologies, and Checkpoint.
- Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and basic Linux.
- Ability to make proactive recommendations and prioritize tasks.
- Industrial networking experience and ITIL certification are advantageous.
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
