Role: Senior ML Research Engineer

Role
- Develop and improve cutting-edge ML models and pipelines powering the most innovative ML-powered product in Europe fighting climate-change
- Pioneer new approaches to help fight climate-change, not just in Germany, but across the globe
- Craft innovative features and enhance existing ones to ensure model precision and accuracy
- Evaluate the robustness of your predictions, considering how project context and parameters influence accuracy metrics.
- Lead the entire R&D process, from initial research and data exploration to rapid prototyping and continuous model improvement in production.
- Bridge the gap between data science and other teams (Engineering, Product, Business Development) by providing expertise to assess feasibility, define project scope, and shape research initiatives.
Requirements
- A PhD or Master’s degree in statistics/mathematics/computer science/machine learning
- Expert in Python and a wealth of industry experience writing code in a production environment.
- Proficiency in math and statistics.
- Proven track record in developing machine learning models for regression problems.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities, capable of working effectively with both functional and cross-functional teams.
- Self-driven with the capability to manage a project from inception to completion and achieve outcomes.
Desirables
- Specialisation in geospatial analysis
- Knowledge in assessing the uncertainty of spatial maps
- Experience with Google Earth Engine and geospatial libraries in Python.
- Experience developing machine learning models applied to remote sensing time series data
- Experience with a cloud platform (e.g. GCP, AWS)
