Job Summary:
My client is an awarding winning organisation who is seeking a skilled and experienced Platform Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining their platform architecture to ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of their systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust and reliable platform services.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain the platform architecture, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and efficiency
• Manage and maintain the infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and security
• Continuously monitor and optimize the platform's performance and availability
• Automate manual tasks and implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in platform engineering and recommend improvements to the existing architecture

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in Platform or DevOps engineering, Infrastructure management, or related roles.
• Solid experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based platforms: ideally with AWS
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (IaC): ideally with CloudFormation bit Terraform accepted
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies e.g., Docker, Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines: either Jenkins or GitLab 
• Strong experience with monitoring skills e.g., Prometheus, DataDog, Grafana etc
• Strong experience with automation tools e.g., Ansible
• Strong programming skills in at least one language e.g., Python, Java, Go
• Excellent virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation, and application hosting technologies.
• You have a history working with server virtualization, IaaS and PaaS cloud
• Configuration management tools e.g. TeamCity
• Strong experience of operating systems: Linux and Windows
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
