Senior Product Manager (Retention) - Remote

$100-120k per annum (depending on experience)

A leading subscription-based D2C business needs an experienced Product Manager and individual contributor to lead the vision and execution of retention initiatives within a subscription-based business. This role will be responsible for shaping the product strategy and execution roadmap to reduce churn, drive long-term user engagement, and maximize customer lifetime value (LTV).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute product strategies aimed at improving customer retention and reducing churn for a subscription business model.
  • Lead customer research, analyse behavioural data, and collaborate with internal teams to identify high-impact opportunities.
  • Plan and implement a data-informed churn reduction strategy, from concept through execution and performance reporting.
  • Define and track churn-related KPIs, including proactive detection of cancellation signals.
  • Define and maintain a clear, measurable roadmap and write functional requirements for each initiative.
  • Act as the Product Owner in Agile ceremonies-prioritizing work, clarifying goals, and enabling successful delivery.
  • Partner with engineering to ensure reusable, scalable solutions across platforms.

Skills and experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on retention, churn reduction, or conversion optimisation within a subscription-based business.
  • Experience in subscription-based B2C products is essential (ideally from a subscription-based company)
  • Proven ability to translate data insights into impactful A/B or multivariate testing programs.
  • Hands-on experience with analytics and experimentation tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Optimizely, PowerBI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills across both quantitative (e.g., churn metrics, LTV, engagement) and qualitative (e.g., surveys, session replays, interviews) research methods.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting and applying user research, including segmentation, usability testing, and exit interviews.
  • Business-minded with the ability to evaluate trade-offs, size opportunities, and make decisions based on strategic value.
  • Able to build and present compelling case studies or retrospectives of past product initiatives and their measurable impact.
  • Experience working in retail, CPG, or physical product subscription environments is a plus.
