Job Title: Data Cabling Engineer - 1st & 2nd Fix (Bracknell, Berkshire)

Location: Bracknell, Berkshire

Type: Contract / Freelance / Permanent (flexible based on candidate)

About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Data Cabling Engineers to carry out both 1st and 2nd fix installations on a commercial site in Bracknell. The role involves dressing and fixing data cables into containment systems, preparing them for termination, and completing final module and patch panel installations with full Fluke DSX testing and certification.

Key Responsibilities:

1st Fix:

• 
  Install and dress data cabling into bundles of 24
• 
  Secure cables neatly to cable trays and containment
• 
  Route cables to designated cabinet locations, ready for termination

2nd Fix:

• 
  Fit modules and patch panels into cabinets and outlets
• 
  Terminate and label all data points
• 
  Conduct full Fluke DSX testing (or equivalent)
• 
  Provide test certificates and results to client
• 
  Perform witness testing on-site (1 day at project completion)

Requirements:

• 
  Proven experience in structured cabling installations (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
• 
  Familiarity with commercial environments and containment systems
• 
  Competent in Fluke DSX testing and certification procedures
• 
  Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• 
  Strong attention to detail and cable management standards
• 
  ECS/CSCS card preferred
• 
  Own tools and transport desirable

Deliverables:

• 
  Fully dressed and installed cabling infrastructure
• 
  Completed module and patch panel terminations
• 
  Certified test results and documentation
• 
  Witness testing session with client representative

Limitations & Site Notes:

• 
  Work must be completed during standard site hours unless otherwise agreed
• 
  Site access, power, and lighting to be provided by client
• 
  Parking availability to be confirmed prior to mobilisation
• 
  Additional containment or remedial works outside scope will be quoted separately
