Web Scraping Engineer

We're looking for a Software Engineer to be part of the team to deliver new website data acquisition software, and support the extensive data acquisition operations. This role will support the core of our business operations, with a significant impact on the value we deliver to our customers.
Role: Data Scraping Engineer (PHP, JavaScript) 100% Remote
Salary: £35-£40k
Location: UK based remote working
About the role

• To develop new web scrapers to capture data from websites which involves writing, testing, and maintaining high-quality code
• Working as part of a team to support data acquisition operations, meeting required SLAs by fixing scrapers when they break (e.g., due to website changes)
• Writing tests for the written code
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects
• Participating in code reviews
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for code

Experience

• Minimum 4 year commercial development experience
• Experience with JavaScript OR PHP
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver or similar
• Desire to work in Data Scraping or Data Acquisition
