Senior Automation Engineer

Location: London or Birmingham (Hybrid Working)

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 (Depending on Experience)

You'll collaborate with talented technical professionals on enterprise-scale projects and develop solutions used by thousands of colleagues across the organisation.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to help develop and deploy intelligent automation capabilities across a wide range of business processes.

You'll combine strong software engineering principles with emerging AI technologies to build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Working closely with technical specialists and business stakeholders, you'll help shape how AI is adopted and embedded across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered agents and automated workflows.
  • Build Python-based applications, services, and automation solutions.
  • Create integrations between AI platforms and enterprise systems.
  • Develop scalable APIs, reusable services, and automation frameworks.
  • Build and maintain workflows using modern AI and automation technologies.
  • Support cloud-based deployments and application lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and engineering best practices.
  • Monitor, optimise, and enhance production solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, technical reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.


You'll Bring

  • Strong Python development experience.
  • Experience building and supporting production-grade software solutions.
  • Experience developing AI, LLM, automation, or agent-based applications.
  • Knowledge of AI orchestration, workflow automation, and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience working with APIs and enterprise system integrations.
  • Cloud platform experience, ideally within Microsoft Azure or a similar environment.
  • Understanding of containerisation and modern deployment practices.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
