Senior Data Engineer

Location: South London | Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Salary: £65,000-£75,000

We're partnering with a growing, technology-driven business looking for a Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of its data platform and shape how data drives business decisions.

Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll have the autonomy to improve existing infrastructure, build reliable reporting solutions and introduce new data capabilities as the business scales.

The Role

You'll own the data platform end to end, from ingestion and transformation through to KPIs, reporting and dashboards. Working closely with senior leadership and engineering teams, you'll ensure business-critical data is accurate, accessible and trusted.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and developing a cloud data warehouse using BigQuery and Dataform.
  • Building and maintaining reliable data pipelines and automated reporting processes.
  • Developing tested, version-controlled data models and robust deployment processes.
  • Creating dashboards and consistent KPIs to support business decision-making.
  • Working with senior stakeholders to define metrics, improve reporting and identify new data opportunities.
  • Taking ownership of platform reliability, troubleshooting and ongoing improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience owning or leading a data warehouse or data platform.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with BigQuery, Snowflake or similar technologies.
  • Experience with dbt, Dataform or comparable data transformation frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience building data pipelines and ingestion processes.
  • Experience creating BI dashboards and delivering meaningful business insights.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive, independent approach and the ability to take projects from concept through to production.

Experience with GCP, Metabase or infrastructure as code would be beneficial but isn't essential.

What's On Offer?

  • £65,000-£75,000 salary.
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 from home.
  • Direct access to the CTO and senior leadership team.
  • Genuine ownership of the data platform and its future direction.
  • The opportunity to build new data capabilities within a growing business.
  • Modern office environment with complimentary breakfast, lunch and drinks.
